Transcript: Preliminary design options Recommendation for Botany GTP Water stream Current plant layout Thank you for your attention The proposed installation of catalytic oxidizer and membrane bioreactor are a feasible and beneficial toward the overall performance of the plant. Improvement such as: reduce footprint lower maintenance cost process simplification Economical evaluation of MBR & CO From investigation and discussion we have determine that there are three equipment that could be replace in order to improve the overall performance of the groundwater treatment plant. The units are : Thermal oxidizer Biological Aerated Filter Granular Activated Carbon Multi-criteria analysis Strength, Weakness, Opportunity and Threat of proposed unit Botany groundwater treatment plant The SWOT analysis was done for all the available options in order to help evaluate or assess which design is more feasible. From all the given option the Membrane bioreactor and Catalytic oxidizer was chosen base on their swot, which are given below. Botany Groundwater treatment plant Gas stream The aim of this proposal is to improve the existing ground water treatment plant by investigate: technical feasibility environmental impact economic viability Multi-criteria analysis is an evaluation base on the score by weighting different aspect of the design which are: Removal efficiency & energy consumption cost footprint time variable process complexity The analysis done for both catalytic oxidizer and membrane bioreactor is given below.

Research: - Language translation - Speech to text - Pattern Recognition - Machine learning Example Translation Calculate mean squared error (MSE) using training data Derive population variance from MSE Use the population variance to determine a confidence measure Not a direct translation and languages will vary in syntax: Dialogues may be expressed differently in different languages for the same context. Silences may not be positioned in the same fashion across different languages. Sentence structures may also be drastically different in different languages. Length of sentences will thus vary and silence durations will need to be adjusted accordingly to match the pace of source dialogue. Work Plan Activation function that transform linear inputs to nonlinear outputs. Bound output to between 0 and 1 so that it can be interpreted as a probability. Make computation easier due to simple derivation. - 260520951 (ECSE 456) - 260585777 (ECSE 456) - 260585286 (ECSE 456) Algorithms Challenges Separate the data we have in 3 categories: Training (70%) Validations (15%) Testing (15%) Sigmoid Data Processing Build Dictionary from data Turn dialogue into sequential inputs Application - Neural Network : Computer system modeled on the human brain and nervous system. Description Parse the given data and build the dictionary (01/09/2016 - 30/09/2016) Implementation of the neural network (01/09/2016 - 31/10/2016) Calibrate the neural network (01/11/2016 - 30/11/2016) Design and implement the confidence Index (01/11/2016 - 30/11/2016) Shabab Ahmed Tong Yi Dylan Andrianantenaina This program may be used in preliminary silence insertions, to reduce the amount of time used on dialogue translation. Automatic identification of vocal silences in the subtitles of a localized video game Backwards Propagation Predictions may be less accurate in dialogue instances where the training program has never seen any similar cases. Since the silence insertions may not always be perfect, the program will calculate a confidence measure. (A further confidence index for every translated dialogue is planned to be implemented) New words introduced into the data needs to be updated into the dictionary. Confidence Measure Work Breakdown Input has propagated and an output has been found. The neural network will propagate the error backwards, while modifying the weight by using the error, a learning rate and the sigmoid slope. Agile Development Model Each member involved with all tasks Each member responsible for their own specific sub-tasks Pair programming for sub-tasks with higher complexity Neural Networks Company Involved: Ubisoft Supervised & Unsupervised Data Sets Tools Silence Identification in Subtitles Project Advisor Isabelle Lacasse Design Decisions Automation of insertion of silence indicators and their duration at correct positions. The goal is to take inputs, English source text with silences, and the target translated text without silences, to produce a final target text with silences. Project SIS Work Accomplished Supervised Learning - Takes sample of input with correct result - Predicts results of unknown sample
